The Health Functional Food (HFF) Act was enacted in August 2002 to ensure the safety of health functional foods with certain health claims for consumer information in Korea(South Korea). A product intended for use to enhance and preserve the human health with one or more functional ingredients or constituents was defined as the "Health Functional Foods".
